Authentic, rare Soviet Army soldier ushanka, with longer length ear-flaps for extreme cold weather conditions has thick synthetic fur, cotton lining and cotton padding inside, wool material top.
These hats were worn by soldiers of the Soviet Army, who served in cold - northern areas, usually inside the Arctic Circle.
Relatively few people live north of the Arctic Circle due to the Arctic climate. The three largest communities above the Arctic Circle are in Russia: Murmansk (population 325,100), Norilsk (135,000), and Vorkuta (85,000).
These ushanka hats were manufactured and are dated 1980's. Unissued military stock condition.
